Laconia High School

Laconia High School – Huot Center

Laconia, NH

Laconia High School called upon Harvey to renovate 28,000 square feet of the Huot Center, and construct at 32,000 square foot addition. They also requested a modernization of the existing high school boiler plant and electrical service entrance. Roof repairs were also necessary, replacing 80,000 square feet of the existing roof. Along with other expansions, more parking was added. The athletic fields for the high school were also relocated, and improved, to make space for the expansion.

The Huot Technology Center creates a space for students of the Lakes Region to learn about careers through hands on experiences. Culinary programs, as well as career and technical education programs for students of the Laconia, Gilford, Belmont, Inter-Lakes, Franklin, and Winnesquam Regional High Schools, are now run out of the Huot Center. Up-to-date technology and equipment were installed to better the programs. With the construction of the Huot Center, students have connections to post-secondary schools, access to field sites, and internship opportunities.

Part of the renovations included installing a new turf field for the athletics program. Bank of New Hampshire Stadium, located on the Laconia High School campus, is lined for several sports, and features lighting that will allow the stadium to host games at night. It can set over 1,000 people. The field will be used for lacrosse, field hockey, soccer, and football specifically, but will also serve as a landmark sports facility in the community for years to come. Along with the high school’s renovations, the new stadium brings hope to the people of Laconia, that remarkable growth for the town is just around the corner.
