Speare Memorial Hospital contracted with Harvey to plan and construct a new 32,000 square foot medical office building at Boulder Point in Plymouth, New Hampshire. The project began at the conceptual stage and required multiple cost estimates to determine the greatest return to the hospital. Working with Lavallee Brensinger Architects, Harvey developed a plan for a new facility that was warm and welcoming.
The new facility was designed to provide flexibility and future expansion. Special attention was given to the siting of the building to create views for orientation and clear plan layout, as well as calming materials. Although on two levels, the program was developed to allow for an easy flow of programs and circulation. In addition, extensive glass was incorporated into the design to not only take advantage of views but also to allow for daylighting throughout the facility.
The new facility maximizes patient convenience and provider collaboration as well as provides patients centralized services in a modern, spacious, state-of-the-art facility. Current services located in the building include pharmacy, eye care and optical, rehabilitation and wellness, orthopedics, internal medicine, laboratory, x-ray, diagnostics and visiting physicians.
